Everyone with a Netflix subscription knows the drill when it comes to picking a new show to watch. You scroll through the new release, trending, and recommended for you sections, and still end up watching ‘Friends’ from beginning to end.
With Scener, you can jump into a group chat with your friends, and decide together what to watch together. Use our text chat to talk about what to watch next. Once you agree on what to watch, jump into a Scene together to video chat while you watch, or if you don’t feel like being that social, just keep hanging out in your group text thread, and watch together.
Scener adds the “chill” to your Netflix and Chill – no matter where you are. For years, people have been trying to find ways to co-watch shows and movies on Netflix when they aren’t together. With Scener, you can keep your binge night schedule intact from anywhere in the world.
Watch while video chatting with that special someone, or link up with a big group of friends for a watch party. Watch your favorite ‘The Office’ episodes together, and try to beat Michael Scott to the punch-line of every ‘That’s what she said!’ joke.
Great shows and movies bring people together, and now coming together over Netflix has never been easier. Scener makes watching together more convenient and fun than ever before. To get started, download our FREE Chrome Extension!
That’s where we come in. Scener lets you sync Netflix with friends, so you don’t have to be in the same room to keep up with each others’ shows. When you join a friend’s scene, you will automatically be synced up to their Netflix timeline, so you can watch exactly what they’re watching – seamlessly matched down to the second.
You’re watching Netflix. Your friends are watching Netflix. You should be watching Netflix with your friends. Now you can watch Netflix in real-time with anyone, anytime, anywhere using Scener.
Our exciting new platform allows you to add sync and chat to Netflix, so you can experience your favorite shows and movies together, wherever. With both video and text chat support, you and your friends can Netflix and chill however you prefer.
To get started, go to Scener and install the Chrome extension in seconds. Go to Netflix, and you’ll see your brand new Scener sidebar. Create an account using the sidebar, and browse Netflix as normal. That’s it! You can now connect with your friends, and watch shows and movies together.

Here are some answers to Frequently Asked Questions about Scener Beta:
Is it free?
Yes! Scener is totally free. You could even say it is more than free, because it pays you in a surplus of fun that you may not be able to contain.
To watch with friends on Scener, you’ll need a laptop, headphones, and some fun friends to share your favorite shows with. Boring friends are also compatible, but fun friends are highly recommended.
What are the software requirements?
With the proper equipment in hand, you’ll need a Netflix subscription and the Google Chrome web browser. If you’re still using Internet Explorer, then it’s time to join the rest of us in the 21st century.
What's a Scener Scene?
A Scene is a synced Netflix experience between you and your friends. In a Scene, you can text or video chat with your friends while watching Netflix together in perfect harmony. It’s like hanging out, except you don’t have to put on pants.
How do I start a Scene?
Click “Start a Scene” in the home tab of the Scener sidebar. Much less painful than the Scene your relatives made at the holiday dinner table.
How do I invite my friends to a Scene?
From the home tab of the Scenersidebar, create a group, or click on an individual friend’s name. Click “Start a Scene” to kick things off!
How many people can I have in a Scene?
In this beta release, Scenes with video chat are limited to five total participants. However, groups that you create can be as big or as small as you’d like. So you could technically invite your entire zip code. Probably don’t though.
How can we keep the Scene going with the same people and binge more episodes of the show we’re watching?
If you’re looking to watch multiple episodes together, you’ll need to head to the next episode, and start a new Scene each time an episode ends. We are working on features that allow you to binge-watch shows more efficiently, because the only thing that should ever interrupt a good binge is Netflix’s “Are you still watching?” screen.
I have to go to the bathroom! Can I pause the movie for everyone?
The first person to enter a Scene is the Scene leader (as identified by the ‘golden remote’ icon above their video circle). In order to provide the smoothest, most harmonious sync experience, only the Scene leader can control pause/play functions. If the Scene leader leaves the Scene, the second person who entered the Scene becomes Scene leader (and so on and so forth).
Something seems out-of-sync, what do I do?
The browser refresh button is your best friend. Smack that thing, and see if that does the trick. For best results, we recommend that the Scene leader be the person with the fastest internet connection.
I’m experiencing an issue not addressed here, HALP!
Just pop the game out of your Super Nintendo, and blow into the cartridge. LOL where my 90’s kids at?? But again, just try refreshing your browser. That should do it. Just make sure you don’t lick your browser, as that could mess it up permanently. If you’re still having trouble, we’re here to help at email@example.com.
