Here are some answers to Frequently Asked Questions about Scener Beta:

Is it free?
Yes! Scener is totally free. You could even say it is more than free, because it pays you in a surplus of fun that you may not be able to contain.

How do I get it?
Go to Scenerand follow the instructions.

What equipment do I need?
To watch with friends on Scener, you’ll need a laptop, headphones, and some fun friends to share your favorite shows with. Boring friends are also compatible, but fun friends are highly recommended.

What are the software requirements?
With the proper equipment in hand, you’ll need a Netflix subscription and the Google Chrome web browser. If you’re still using Internet Explorer, then it’s time to join the rest of us in the 21st century.

What's a Scener Scene?
A Scene is a synced Netflix experience between you and your friends. In a Scene, you can text or video chat with your friends while watching Netflix together in perfect harmony. It’s like hanging out, except you don’t have to put on pants.

How do I start a Scene?
Click “Start a Scene” in the home tab of the Scener sidebar. Much less painful than the Scene your relatives made at the holiday dinner table.

How do I invite my friends to a Scene?
From the home tab of the Scener sidebar, create a group, or click on an individual friend’s name. Click “Start a Scene” to kick things off!

How many people can I have in a Scene?
In this beta release, Scenes with video chat are limited to five total participants. However, groups that you create can be as big or as small as you’d like. So you could technically invite your entire zip code. Probably don’t though.

How can we keep the Scene going with the same people and binge more episodes of the show we’re watching?
If you’re looking to watch multiple episodes together, you’ll need to head to the next episode, and start a new Scene each time an episode ends. We are working on features that allow you to binge-watch shows more efficiently, because the only thing that should ever interrupt a good binge is Netflix’s “Are you still watching?” screen.

I have to go to the bathroom! Can I pause the movie for everyone?
The first person to enter a Scene is the Scene leader (as identified by the ‘golden remote’ icon above their video circle). In order to provide the smoothest, most harmonious sync experience, only the Scene leader can control pause/play functions. If the Scene leader leaves the Scene, the second person who entered the Scene becomes Scene leader (and so on and so forth).

Something seems out-of-sync, what do I do?
The browser refresh button is your best friend. Smack that thing, and see if that does the trick. For best results, we recommend that the Scene leader be the person with the fastest internet connection.

I’m experiencing an issue not addressed here, HALP!
Just pop the game out of your Super Nintendo, and blow into the cartridge. LOL where my 90’s kids at?? But again, just try refreshing your browser. That should do it. Just make sure you don’t lick your browser, as that could mess it up permanently. If you’re still having trouble, we’re here to help at support@scener.com.
